Program CuriousU Summer School telah menarik lebih dari 300 peserta mahasiswa dari seluruh dunia dan jumlahnya terus meningkat. Meningkatnya jumlah peserta CuriousU menjadi perhatian bagi panitia karena jumlah peserta akan berbanding lurus dengan jumlah permasalahan yang akan terjadi selama acara berlangsung. Kekhawatiran utama panitia meliputi peserta yang mengalami kesulitan dalam menemukan lokasi kelas di area kampus serta kepadatan area kantin saat waktu makan malam. Hal ini
membuat panitia khawatir terhadap keselamatan para peserta, khususnya mereka yang bukan warga negara Belanda, apabila terjadi keadaan darurat. Proyek Satu bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah aplikasi Virtual Reality yang dapat memantau dan mengarahkan kerumunan, yang dalam konteks penelitian ini adalah para peserta Program CuriousU Summer School.
